The Barbecook Buddy Workstation is a practical addition to your outdoor kitchen, providing extra workspace, storage and convenience alongside your Barbecook Nestor or Pedro Asado. Its compact design makes it easy to incorporate into your setup while giving you everything you need close at hand when cooking and entertaining.

The Buddy can be positioned on either the left or right side, of your Nestor with the required adapter or on the Pedro allowing you to adapt the workstation to suit your available space. Beneath the worktop, a multifunctional tray provides useful storage for herbs, ingredients or cooking accessories, while the integrated towel rail and accessory hooks keep essential tools neatly organised.

A generous lower storage area provides space for firewood or barbecue accessories, while the ergonomic 85 cm working height creates a comfortable and practical preparation area. The Buddy Workstation combines easily with your existing setup, helping to turn your barbecue into a more complete and functional outdoor kitchen.

Corten Steel Finish – What to Expect

If your Barbecook Nestor doesn’t yet match the rich, weathered finish shown in the images, this is completely normal. The Nestor is made from corten steel, a material specifically designed to develop its distinctive appearance over time.

What is Corten Steel?

Corten (weathering) steel is a high-strength material developed for outdoor use. When exposed to the elements, it forms a natural, rust-like patina on the surface.

This patina is not only decorative but also protective, helping to prevent deeper corrosion and ensuring long-term durability in outdoor environments.

What to Expect

When new, the steel has a more uniform, grey-toned finish. As it is exposed to air and moisture, it will gradually develop a warm, reddish-brown patina.

Initial colour changes may appear within a few weeks
The full patina typically develops over several months, depending on weather conditions
The finish will continue to evolve over time, adding to its unique character

Getting Started

To ensure an even and consistent finish:

Unpack and position your Nestor outdoors as soon as possible after delivery
Allow natural exposure to rain and moisture to begin the weathering process
Occasional light rinsing with water can help promote even development

Surface Staining

During the early stages, some surface residue may run off as the patina develops.

Avoid placing directly on porous or sensitive surfaces such as light stone or decking
Position on a suitable base where any initial staining will not be an issue
This effect will reduce significantly once the patina has fully formed
